Travel Outfit
outfit details
panama hat - Walmart - still in stores
sunglasses - Old Navy - click here - love!
grey v-neck - concert tee- very similar to the Target tees click here
leggings - JCPenny - couple years old - similar click here
tennis shoes - Nike from DSW - several years old - similar click here and here
bag - Rebecca Minkoff - click here

I knew we would be spending around 13 plus hours in our car before arriving at the beach! I wanted to be comfortable enough to sleep, but still look presentable to folks who aren't legally obligated to love me! ...Like for unplanned stops like we made here at Mobile. Wearing a grey v-neck tee, my favorite leggings, and tennis shoes. I kept my panama hat on the dash to easily slip on at stops...well and, it pretty much makes any outfit look a little cooler! Sunglasses of course and a lightweight cardi that I wore mainly in the car. Just basic mom gear!

DAY 1
outfit details
t-shirt dress - Old Navy - click here
leather flip flops - Gap - click here - same style. different color options.

I slipped this t-shirt dress on to run to Walmart once we arrived, and of course I had my panama hat on. This shirt dress in one of my favorites and I get lots of compliments on it!

DAY 2
outfit details
panama hat - Walmart - still in stores
sunglasses - Old Navy - click here - These are my current favs!
tissue button up - Old Navy - click here
grey tank - Target - click here
shorts - Forever21 - old
shoes - Old Navy - click here
bag - Rebecca Minkoff - click here

We rode go carts and played arcade games. These tissue thin button ups are my favorite thing to wear with shorts in the summer! They keep the top half a little more conservative when exposing the legs, are just as cool temperature wise as a tank, and provide a bit of sun coverage to my shoulders and back. Old Navy has made them the last few years in TALL sizing which is amazing to have a button up shirt that the sleeves are long enough.

DAY 2 - dinner outfit
outfit details
shirt dress - Old Navy - click here
shoes - Old Navy - click here

I wore this to Tacky Jacks for dinner. I love this lightweight, but not see through shirt dress! It was wonderful to slip on after a long day in a swimsuit!

DAY 3 - picture and dinner outfit
outfit details
me - fit and flare dress - Old Navy - click here
my hubby - shirt- Chaps from Khols and shorts - Old Navy - both recent
Everett - shirt - Carter's - last year and shorts - Old Navy - recent
Elliot - slip dress - Old Navy - this past winter

After looking over the reviews of this dress I was worried it was going to be too short, but it's perfect. I'm 5'9" and order almost everything from Old Navy in TALL sizing, this dress included. I wore this for family pictures on the beach and for dinner I slipped on white tennis shoes.

DAY 4 - dinner date

outfit details
shirt dress - Old Navy - click here
wedges - Lucky Brand - old
I wore this shirt dress again from day 2 paired with my favorite wedges. This dress is so much cuter in person!

DAY 5 - souvenir shopping and evening walk on the beach
outfit details
panama hat - Walmart - recent
long sleeve tissue tee - Old Navy - old
shorts - Target - click here
It was rainy and overcast this day so liked the option of being able to pull down my sleeves if I got a chill. These cutoff shorts were just made for the beach!

SWIMWEAR
outfit details
hat - Forever21 - recent
top - JCPenny - last year
bottoms - Old Navy - click here

This is a good fantasy beach outfit for a mom, well the swimsuit is just fine...but that hat was pretty impractical for an activities other than sitting perfectly still!! I do love the high waisted swim bottoms from Old Navy. They stay in place from chasing kids to riding waves, and helps hold my tummy in! I have a long torso which also tends to work well with high waisted items.

...and even sitting still the wind and my hat were disagreeing! I mentioned in my travel diary post about how serious I take my sun protection after having several squamous cell skin cancer removed from my legs, back, and chest. Athleta is my favorite place to by UPF coverups and rash-guards. They are fabulous quality, I get year round use out of them, and worth every penny! The pink zip one shown here is long and covers the bum. I wear it as a mainly as a cover up. The two long sleeve cover ups shown below are lovely! I have a navy blue and dark grey version. They are great to throw on when leaving the pool, or wear over leggings in the winter.

This is how I spent a good portion of our trip or riding waves! Bummed we didn't getting any pictures of that fun! A baseball cap is most practical for sun protection when being active. My UPF rashguard is from Old Navy last year. It's not TALL sizing...see how the sleeves are too short, but it works! I've linked below this years version, and my top and bottoms. Also, linked above are short sleeve versions and maternity! Elliot's suit (click here) is from Old Navy is well.

My favorite rashguard(click here) we only go this picture of. It comes in regular, tall, petite, and plus sizing and in a variety colors! I wear it all year long, and love it! I've also linked Elliot's swim set. People often ask me if it's hot to wear a rashguard and the answer is NO. I find them to be cooler once wet then just a bikini.
