high waisted flare jeans outfit with blue button up and boyfriend cardigan

I have a slight obsession with button up shirts because they are so very versatile, and all cotton ones are SO comfy. A button up shirt can be very flattering with the right fit it smooths over the lumps and bumps knit shirts and sweaters can sometimes highlight. Pairing the blue oxford shirt with a thin boyfriend cardigan and high waisted flare jeans. This is a easy to throw on outfit to be out the door in a flash in still be comfortable and put together. Details below.

winter denim jacket outfit with black skinny jeans and frye boots

It's been unseasonably warm....high 50s the last week or so which included Christmas. I always hope for a white, snowy Christmas, but the kids have really enjoyed playing outside. ANYWHO, dressing for warm weather in the winter is challenging to say the least. I LOVE my layers and coats and big cozy scarfs....maybe I can break those out again next week! This outfit allows for a love of winter accessories in the scarf, beanie, and gloves-BUT with a denim jacket it doesn't get too hot! I've paired a super soft cashmere sweater  (that was a gift from my husband many years ago) layered over a plain grey long sleeve t-shirt. Adding different textures and layers to basic pieces add interest to a tonal outfit. On the bottom half I'm wearing my favorite black skinny jeans that hold you in all the right places along with some harness boots. Thanks so much for stopping by. Audra

winter cowboy boot outfit with oversized sweater and corduroy shearling jacket

Chunky sweaters and cowboy boots just feel right for the colder months. Have you noticed that shearling is starting to pop up everywhere from full on shearling coats and vests to just accents around the collar and sleeves? Shearling trimmed coats give me retro 70s feelings....its probably because my dad had a denim coat with a shearling collar. My corduroy jacket is almost 20 years old. I bought it in high school from Abercrombie and Fitch, paid a ridiculous amount for it, and for sure couldn't afford it!! BUT, maybe it wasn't such a bad purchase because I still love it, and what is old is new again! Pairing with my vintage jacket a blanket scarf, cozy sweater, ripped skinny jeans and cowboy boots. Retro vibes all the way...well, except maybe the skinny jeans. What's something vintage(old) in your closet that you still wear?

school run outfit with warm leggings and quilted vest - winter leggings outfit

Athelisure is maybe my favorite trend of the moment, and not because I care all too much about keeping up with the latest thing....BUT, because cool athletic clothing pieces are readily available at pretty much any store and at any budget! YAY! It's finally trendy to wear what is comfortable for our everyday, casual life. I am wearing my favorite WARM leggings with furry insides, paired with striped tee,  and a flannel. A vest over a denim jacket is my go to look with leggings  for cozy layers that add interest to a pretty basic outfit. Lastly, add black high tops and you are fully rocking the athelisure style. One last thing, a sure fire way to make this trend work for you is to stick to one color or tone....I am wearing all black and grey because it adds a little edge and its just easy to mix and match with. Thanks so much for stopping by. Audra

long cardi coat outfit with suede leggings and striped turtleneck

This outfit has been on repeat because it is SOOOO comfortable and cozy in a sweatpants and husband's hoodie sort of way, BUT it's chic... athleisure wear at its best! There is no longer a need or reason to look like you've given up on life. You need these very affordable pieces in your life!! The suede leggings are a step up from basic black leggings, but are a baby step if the thought of leather leggings scares you a bit. A striped turtleneck is a closet staple you can wear to and with pretty much anything. THE CARDI!! This cardigan coat is so fabulous, and looks so much more expensive than it is. I love the texture and patch pocket details. Pocket are a must in my book when wearing leggings! Finally, the black wedge sneakers!! I have worn these babies almost every day since picking them up a few weeks ago. They are such a stylish take on a tennis shoe, and make any outfit look a little more polished and cool. All of the pieces are great together or alone with almost anything else in your closet. Links below. Thanks so much for stopping by, Audra

taylor swift inspired outfit.

I was waiting in the pick up line at my son's school last week and was scrolling through Pinterest when I spotted Taylor Swift looking classic and chic as always wearing THIS outfit. Even though I am more than a couple years older then her I love her everyday style with retro, lady like influences. The first thing that I was drawn to was the olive pom scarf because I had a very similar one that was a clearance find at Walmart last year. Taylor is wearing a plaid poncho, and since I don't have one I substituted one of my favorite blanket scarfs because it also had hints of olive that works nicely with the pom scarf. She is also wearing green skinny trousers, though I really like the way they look on her colored pants are not something I tend to wear or gravitate towards. Instead, I went with my favorite high waisted skinny jeans. NOW, I love layers, but I believe this is the first time I have layered two scarfs. I really love the way the outfit turned out! I am also trying to carry my bag in the same lady like manor Taylor does, but I'm not sure I can pull that part off!! Thanks so much for stoping by. Audra

grey skinny jeans outfit with plaid coat, puffer vest, and black tennis shoes

If you look at my Instagram or blog it doesn't take long to figure out that blue is my favorite color!! It just makes me happy and always works for me. I have had this vest for three years in black, and when I saw it in blue immediately ordered it!! I love the lightweight feel and ease of this style. It layers like a dream!! Sadly its sold out online, but I was in store a couple weeks ago and there were loads!! Hopefully you can grab one there! My cozy blue sweater is a Target find that I've had on repeat since picking up. The grey jeggings are so soft and comfy. Love! So this outfit is pretty much my go to or some version of it when I want to step in up a little from my day to day leggings/sweatpants uniform because its sooo comfortable and looks a little more polished! AND when its extra cold I throw on a plaid coat. Beyond your coat staples you need a wild card to jazz things up and is such an easy way to make any outfit instantly cooler...but still be warm, HA;-). Outfit details below.
