fall wardrobe refresh - things I'm loving / closet staples

Fall is one of my favorite seasons for stepping up my style game!! It's just cool enough to experiment with fun layers, scarfs, and hats BUT not so cold you need a huge down coat!!  Today I'm sharing the things I'm loving for fall! Some items are a little trendy, but overall you'll find classic, wardrobe staples. (click on the item above for the link)

Embroidered

Embroidery is a huge trend right now!! I really dig it because its a little boho influence added to everything from shoes to jackets and everywhere in between!! This is such a wearable trend to rock and with so many options available you are sure to find something to suit you.

Western Details

Ok, so you have to twist my arm to sport this trend. HaHAHa!! Every major runway the last few years has had western vibes incorporated in, and I'm not just talking about the grand daddy of them all Ralph Lauren!! Calvin Klein, Dior, Chanel, and Roberto Cavalli to name a few...all included western detailing into their designs. From fringe touches, brown suede, turquoise embellishments, concho belts, retro detailed shirts, shearling lined jackets, lots of denim, embroidery details and cowboy boots are meeting high fashion. I LOVE it!! If your not ready to go full on cowgirl pick one item for a subtle western vibe such as a belt, turquoise cuff, or fringe booties.

Trench Coat

Every girl needs a trench coat in their closet!! There is pretty much nothing a trench coat doesn't look good with! From sweatpants clade school runs to your Easter Sunday dress outfit...a trench coat will make the look!



Boots

Fall is all about the boots!! There are SO many styles of boots & booties right now its a little overwhelming to know what you need! All of them if your a shoe addict like me! But for real, what boots do you need to be stylish this fall?!! I say a pair of ankle to just above booties and a tall, to the knee or over the knee will get the job done!!

For a while it's been over the knee is the end all, but recently I've been seeing a lot more boots that go just to the knee. Which is perfect for tall girls like me who can't find OTK boots unless they're 900 bucks! Mid boots are also gaining in popularity, but can be tricky style...aka can make you look short. That's why I say stick to the ankle and knee zone for your fall boot selections or buy them all if you're like me! Shoes are my weakness
And of course you need to make sure you have a pair of classic brown cowboy boots!! 

Dark Wash Jeans

A closet staple, fall is the perfect time to make sure you have crisp, dark wash jeans to wear with the your boots!! Both skinny and bootcut styles are a must!! 

What I've picked up and wish list items

I've been really good this season with being more thoughtful with my purchases. AND, no this no one of the youtube videos where I talk about how I'm not buying that much and then show my new Chanel bag! Well, but I did buy a couple horses so...maybe! Kidding aside I've wanted to make smart choices for things I LOVE.
